Theatre for all.

Creativity for the community.

Adults & Intergenerational

We also provide drama workshops and devised theatre projects for adults with learning  disabilities both at Creative Workspace and in other settings including a Keynsham-based  Mencap group for adults aged 18-30 and at the Reach Centre in Somerset.

In addition to his work with Patchwork Theatre, Paul worked previously with Dorset-based organisation Say So Drama  as a Drama Facilitator, leading workshops for adults  with  learning disabilities.

Brave Bold Drama also hosts drama workshops for adults  with  learning disabilities at Creative Workspace.

We first began working with older people in 2014 on a project called ‘The Making of Me’. This project was a partnership between the Courtyard Theatre, Hereford and Shaw Healthcare, calling for immersive, stimulating drama workshops for residents in care homes. We worked in partnership with Petersfield Care Home in Portishead, taking the ‘Imagination Train’ to different locations each week including the Ritz and the Zoo!

Prior to his work with Brave Bold Drama, Paul toured alongside Dorset company Patchwork Theatre as part of their festive cabaret shows which led to him devising sensory-based workshops for the elderly in care and residential homes across that region. Incorporating live-music, soundscapes, textures and light-projection these experiences allowed Paul to tightly hone his community workshop delivery in readiness for his work with Brave Bold Drama.

Since taking up residence in Creative Workspace in Withywood we have begun a new strand of work for older people. This time we are delivering creative intergenerational workshops for older people and pre-school families once a month in our "Everyone Create!" sessions.
