Online Creative Writing Group

We are making space online every Monday for you to explore a wide range of writing styles, build confidence, gain support, meet published writers and have fun at our new Creative Writing Group, kindly supported by Bristol John James Foundation.

The group is for people who live in BS13 aged 16+ to adult and happens on a Monday evening from 7pm-8.30pm via a zoom link. Sessions are FREE to attend. This group provides exciting opportunities to work with published authors and to have your own writing published online here and in a printed anthology which will be made available at Bishopsworth library in south Bristol once that library reopens.

Absolute beginners to more experienced writers are equally welcome. Regular attendance is not vital but is encouraged as much as possible.

Each month we explore a different style of creative writing including: writing for children and young adults, poetry, writing for spoken word performance, scriptwriting, novels in various genres including historical fiction and thrillers, journalism, sketch writing, song lyrics and biography.

At some stage, when Bishopsworth Library re-opens, this group will meet there, still on a Monday from 7pm-8.30pm but will remain a blended offer so you can either join in person or carry on participating in the group via a zoom link. When we transition to meeting at the library, the group's activity will also be supported by Bristol Libraries Innovation Fund.

To express an interest in joining this group, please click the link below, or alternatively call us on 079866 654968 to find out more.

If you are a south-west based author and would like to discuss joining the group to talk about your work and lead some simple writing exercises, please email hello@bravebolddrama.co.uk Author visits are scheduled to begin in December 2020 and will happen monthly after that, ideally on either the first or second Monday of the month.

We have a fee of £50 to offer authors. We are particularly keen to work with Bristol-based authors as we have the opportunity for authors to return once this is an in-real-life group based at Bishopsworth Library, but can only cover travel expenses for Bristol-based authors.
