Blog #1 - New Beginnings 17th January 2018
We are fully embracing the NEW here at Brave Bold Drama. We have a new website this shiny new fortnightly blog and an even shinier new family show called George and the Flight of the Imaginees currently on tour.
Maybe you know all about Brave Bold Drama already. If so, hello old friend, thanks for dropping by. You know where the kettle is, that I take my coffee very strong and that the almond milk is for Paul.
If however, like this blog, you’re new to Brave Bold Drama, well let’s just whizz you through who we are and what we’re doing. We’re a small but passionate and extremely hard-working CommunityInterest Company. We make theatre and we run a community arts centre in Withywood, South Bristol called Creative Workspace.
We have two directors; Gill and Paul. Then there’s a host of regular associate artists, technicians and other specially-skilled folk who join us for particular events, projects and shows. Let’s not forget our fantastic board of trustees and also our steadily growing bank of volunteers who help us at Creative Workspace. Incidentally, if you are sold on us by the end of this, by all means consider volunteering to help us. We would be made up.
So, to bring you up to speed, January 2018 finds us midway through a tour of our new family show 'George and the Flight of the Imaginees' which we’re thoroughly enjoying, by the way. We’re in the process of promoting our February half-term events at Creative Workspace and our Easter holiday events at Creative Workspace are nearly all planned too. We are about to start a Silver Arts Award Course with teenagers from BS13 with our Big Lottery Funding and we’re soon to accept our two year Cultural Investment Funding from Bristol City Council (very pleased with that too). We’ve also nearly got a really super tidy office (by our haphazard artistic standards anyway) as we gave it a massive blitz and now we even know where all the highlighter pens are.
All in all I think we’re in a pretty good place.
Well, thanks for your interest in our work. Hope to see you again some time.
Gill
