The Paintstripper Monologues

Photography: Dave Whitecliff

Say Van Gogh and we think of sunflowers. The life of the artist; his struggles, his passions and his doubts now lie almost hidden within his paintings.

The Paintstripper Monologues delve underneath the layers of paint and canvass to reveal the life of the artist beneath.

A collection of four companion pieces, the Paintstripper Monologues reveal the lives of Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Rene Magritte and Tamara de Lempicka. Commissioned by Southbank Bristol Arts Trail they were performed in pop-up venues including the Tobacco Factory at the 2015 Arts Trail weekend.
